New Conference Centre at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort
Creative Events and Inspiring Meetings Redesigned
The much-anticipated renovation of the Resort’s Conference Centre was completed in April 2016.
The project saw the complete transformation of the centre’s 1,316 sqm of floor space into distinct modern venues including the main 816 sqm divisible ballroom, four 125 sqm meeting rooms, new Orchid Gallery, as well as both male and female restrooms.
The overall re-design reflects the influence of Phuket’s idyllic resort setting, the clear Andaman waters, and the diversity of the city's unique Sino-Portuguese and Thai heritage.
All interior spaces were fitted with custom designed carpet and Jim Thompson Thai silk wall fabrics. New Orchid Gallery features a transparent sky roof for improved natural lighting during day time and relaxed evening cocktails.
The main pillar-less Karon Ballroom's new partition – made with eco-friendly recycled glass material – features improved sound insulation, allowing two different events to be held simultaneously without disruption.
These aesthetic enhancements and interior improvements are complemented with the latest sound and light equipment including LED display panels strategically placed to provide essential information. New catering equipment allow for an upgraded menu for banquets.
Contemporary Design Meets Cutting-Edge Audiovisual Technology
Complementing the contemporary re-design of conference centre spaces is the installation of the latest audiovisual technology. Presentations pop-out with sharp and crisp clarity with powerful High-Definition 16:10-aspect widescreen projectors with the main Karon Ballroom featuring a motorized 250-inch projector screen. Switching between video inputs is a breeze thanks to a remote input-capable display control unit. These gorgeous projectors will be further enhanced with AppleTV and Chromecast consoles enabling speakers and presenters to wirelessly present and share their screens using either iOS or Android devices.
Transform any banquet or dinner into an enthralling event. Highlight dramatic moments in the main Karon Ballroom and four meeting rooms with the latest RGB LED lighting ensemble capable of producing 16 Million colour shades to match any mood, theme, or corporate colour. From underwater aquatic world to golden evenings, each themed event comes alive. Transitioning from shade to shade can be remotely controlled with ease via a master control application that’s available for today’s most popular operating systems.
Speeches, music, and messages come out vividly through new JBL sound and subwoofer system installed throughout meeting rooms and the Karon Ballroom.
WiFi internet throughout the renovated Conference Centre has been upgraded to 120 MB bandwidth ensuring fast and stable connectivity.

Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short by 1 week as i ended up in hospital for 3 days. During the time i was sick your staff were fantastic the care and consideration they displayed was very much appreciated. A special thank you to Saowalah Thabthim, the nurse on-site and the lady who is expecting a baby in 4 weeks and another lady who i think works at guest services and rang me when i was in the hospital (sorry but i don't know there names). Also a thank you to Julian who sent flowers and a nice note when i returned to my room after being discharged from the hospital. I was also very appreciative when advised that the unused weeks accomodation i had paid for in advance will be refunded to me. That alone says a lot about the brilliant customer service your hotel displays. A big thank you to everyone involved once again
